Flush
Any five cards of the same suit, in no particular order. The highest card out of the total
5 cards forms the rank of the flush. The illustration shows a King High flush.
Straight
Any five cards in consecutive order, regardless of the suit. Our illustration shows an Eight High
straight. The highest possible straight is from Ten, Jack, Queen, King, & Ace.
Three of a Kind
Any three cards of the same rank, accompanied by any two unrelated cards.
Two Pairs
Any two cards of the same rank, accompanied by another two cards of the same rank and one unrelated card.
One Pair
Any two cards of the same rank, accompanied by any three unrelated cards.
High Card
Any hand that does not make up any of the above mentioned hands. Normally five unrelated cards,
with the person holding the highest card being the winner.
